Venice - Hotel Restaurant Bar at the Danieli

  • Fabulous hotel to grab a drink!

Tuscany - Restaurant in the Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, called “La Loggia”

  • This is maybe 15 mins away from the city of Florence in Fiesole, but it is up on a hill so it is the best view on a nice day of the entire city! This is a fancier, white table cloth spot. I recommend going for lunch during the day so you can see the view clearly. This would also be the hotel I recommend staying in if you do not want to stay in the city of Florence itself.

Venice Lunch - Osteria alla Frasca

  • This was a great little spot nestled in a square in town- so much so that it was actually hard to find! We went here after a long walking tour, and it hit the spot. Like most of the restaurants in Italy, we were given complimentary limoncello at the end of our meal too.

Venice Dinner - il Ridotto

  • This was our fanciest dinner we went to in Venice. In general, the restaurants all seem to be on the more casual side. We did the 7 course tasting menu! If I remember correctly, there was an awesome cheese dish to end if you wanted to opt out of a sweet dessert.

Venice Dinner - Harry’s Bar

  • This is where the original Bellini was invented! Although the food here was good, it was definitely overpriced and you can get the same sort of thing at Cipriani in New York (same owners). My recommendation would be to come here for a drink and head out to another spot for dinner.

Rome Lunch - L’Archeologica

  • This was an amazing lunch spot right outside the city walls. Unfortunately, when we tried to go the road was closed off and we had to walk far to get there- so double check and make sure your cab can take you there. You felt like you were in your friend's backyard and nowhere near the city. They brought out an amazing spread of meats and cheeses for us, and they also showed us into the basement wine cellar. The people who worked there were beyond nice.

Rome Dinner - Hotel Hassler - Imago

  • This one Michelin star restaurant was our nicest dinner in Rome. I especially appreciated this view because it overlooked the Spanish steps. You can see from one of the pictures- the sun peaking out from behind the bell towers. These dishes are described as contemporary Italian.

Rome Dinner - Gaetano Costa Le Roof

  • This dinner spot lives up to its name, as you are literally seated on a roof. This was definitely a nicer place, and we had an absolutely breathtaking view. My favorite pasta was a saffron dish that was bright yellow. Highly recommend coming up here for a lovely sunset.

Rome Dinner - Felice e Testaccio

  • Even though this was the most casual out of all our dinner dining experiences, it was actually my favorite! Sometimes you just need to uncomplicate things and get a big plate of cheese ravioli. I loved this to end our time in Rome. This seemed to also be a family friendly spot!
